Suggest Treatment For Muscle Inflammation While On Lortab

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Feb 2016
Question: Hi, I had multiple joint pain and had labs drawn last Mon. with ASO 1220, Ferritin 361, C-react. Protien Just over range at 3 and creatinine at upper end range. Other labs neg. My Dr, mailed me the results and suggested repeating ASO in 30 days / possible steroids. My hips are now bad, knee, ankles and wrists/hands whether sitting or standing. 61 y/o on prescription NSAIDs and now have 99.8-100 temp. Knuckles are red/palms not red but getting deeper pink. Knocking glasses over when I reach for things as jerky arm movements and painful to use fork to cut pasta. Having to lift left leg into car within last few days due to pain. Don't know if I need to go to ER or need to start Antibiotics because I was very active until pain on Sun and last few days can't go more than into a small store without walking around/son picks things out and home. My provider was very laid back about this. I am a nurse and worked last week sitting down/felt like hip "sloppy" when walking and now worse. Took Lortab I use for my back tonight but, doesn't touch ligament pain/muscular pain. Ruddy facial appearance now.

Muscle inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Good evening

Thank you for writing on health care magic

Well, the sort of symptoms you are having looks more of a joint and muscle inflammation. Considering it is getting worse with time, I think we need to act quickly on it. Dont worry about ASO. It is nothing related to it.

Since you are a nurse, I would like to ask you a few more details

1. The rashes over the knuckles , how bad are they..Is it present over the face and elbows also??/DO they look like rashes of Dermatomyositis??

2. Do you feel weakness in the muscles as well..Difficulty in getting up from squatting position or from the toilet seat.??

3. have you experienced any weight loss or apetite loss???

4. How long has the fever been going on?

5. Do you feel any breast lumps or any lymph node swellings anywhere

Do let me know these queries. Also would like to check your CPK levels

Regards
Dr Naval
