Suggest Treatment For Muscle Twitching In The Body

Question: Hello, i have a question regarding all over random bodily muscle twitches i've been experiencing for the last three days. I recently completed a few days worth of claratin D-24 hr for allergies and have a history of sensitivity to psuedophedrine. I have stopped taking the claratin but am still experiencing these random muscle spasms- with no other symptoms. I also made the error of consulting Dr. Google which of course points at a diagnosis of ALS. Realistically, I know this is probably not the case but I am definately wanting some peace of mind. Since the muscle spasms I have been excessively hydrating with water and gatorade since the spasms started. Any advice or peace of mind would be so appreciated.

Brief Answer:
ALS very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

ALS is very unlikely to be the condition that is causing your symptoms in your case for two main reasons:

-1-your age ( in people younger than 40 years old ALS is a very rare condition

-2- early symptoms of ALS include difficulty walking and doing everyday activities, weakness of hands, feet, ankles, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, muscles spasms and twitching in arms, shoulders etc. not just muscles twitching.

Claritin D24 contains pseudoephedrine and loratadine, so, if you are hypersensitive to pseudoephedrine, this may be causing your problems.

However, get evaluated by your primary care Doctor about the muscles twitching, it may be related to several conditions such electrolytes imbalance, benign fasciculations syndrome, etc.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.

Thanks so much! One last question...ifthe muscle spasms were attributed to the claratin D 24 hr- at what point in time would this medication probably be out of my system?
