Suggest Treatment For Muscle Weakness And Cold

Cause of leg symptoms and MRI interpretation
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. You are going through a lot stress. After going through your question, I found 3 separate information.
First - The left side leg spasm, weakness, pain, bluish discolouration and cold foot/leg. All these symptoms are matching to the vascular etiology especially "cyanotic vascular disease of left lower limb".
The mechanism of your symptoms might be due to decrease in oxygenated blood to the left leg/foot, leading to painful muscle spasm/blue colour and low temperature.
The cause could be confirmed by consulting vascular surgeon. There are few diseases which can cause such symptoms like
: Cyanotic heart disease like patent ductus arteriosus
: Raynoud disease
: Peripheral vascular disease
: Thromboembolic phenomenon
To confirm it, the doctor will advise
: Ultrasound doppler of limb vessels
: ECHO of heart
: CT angiography of lower limb and heart vessels
Second information - speech problem. This I could not figure it out. As there was not much detailed history. I need few details like
: What is the exact problem in speech? not able to speak at all, stammering, forgetting words, speaking but slurring
: What is the duration?
: Is there any tongue/throat/oral cavity problem?
After these answers, I will be able to say something about it. It is not due to your MRI findings as cervical spondylosis can not affect tongue/speech.
Third information - MRI findings of mild degeneration at C5/6 with minimal left exiting nerve compression.
MRI at your age, will show such findings very frequently. No need to worry about that. Disc degeneration starts around 32-35 years and asymptomatic changes can be picked by MRI. This confuses patient. Because patient thinks that something bad has happened.
But it is not that. It is a normal process. MRI findings are considered significant if they are matching with clinical symptoms.
So you can relax about MRI. However as you have information about neck disc changes, you can follow few tips to control it at this level. You should
: Avoid bad neck posture like keeping neck in flexion position for long. It happens when you use XXXXXXX phones/laptop
: Start neck muscle exercise to strengthen neck muscles. It will relieve load on disc and vertebral body.
: Be careful about what you are eating. You should eat more fruits, green vegetables, calcium rich diet like eggs/milk/curd to supplement minerals/vitamins in body. It will prevent degeneration
: As you are 42 years old, regularly check your vitamin D3 and calcium level to know about any deficiency. Treat it before it happens.
Hope it will help you. If still in doubt, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care
