Suggest Treatment For Nail Bed Infection Of Finger Nail
Question: I'm attaching a picture of my son's finger. He is in the Navy and in Australia at this time.Medical is closed until Monday and he is asking me if he should go to a hospital.Any advise would be helpful.
Brief Answer:
Nail bed infection most likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query and picture. His problem is most likely nail bed infection. It looks like there is collection of puss. It should be drained by a small incision. If he can't go to hospital then he can put a small incision with clean blade and ooze out the puss. After that can apply glycerine magsulf and betadine ointment.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
