Brief Answer:
Stop smoking. Treat the URTI. .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Smoking affects the mucociliary clearance in the delicate nasal and sinus lining (mucosa). This predisposes to frequent upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) slows down healing. The secretions thicken and present as phlegm.

2. There is inflammation of the lymphoid tissue. This delicate tissue bleeds leading to blood tinged phlegm. This is not a cause for concern.

3. Your snoring is recent and should reduce after treatment of this URTI. Your BMI (Body Mass Index) seems to be healthy hence the snoring is not an issue.

4. Get your ENT examination done and get appropriate treatment.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
