Suggest Treatment For Nasal Blockage
stop xylometazoline- blokage of nose, bp raises.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I see similar cases amongst veteran people who visit my clinic. I would like to ask you few more details.
Since when are you having nasal blockage?
Do you have any other symptoms associated with nasal blockage like sneezes, dry cough or headache?
Here I am giving possibilities of nasal blockage.
The First possibility is rhinitis medicamentosa- (overuse of (Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride).
the second possibility is allergic rhinitis due to allergen, vasomotor rhinitis due to stress.
the third possibility is polyps due to allergy. deviated septum.
the fourth is medications-Overuse of decongestant sprays,bp medications, anti depressants.
the fifth one is any growth obstructing the pat-ency of nose.
I suggest you to to consult ENT surgeon and get ent examination, nasal endoscopy to know the status of septum, complete blood picture with absolute eosinophilic count to rule out allergic rhinitis.
I advise you to stop xylometazoline (it should not be used more than 7days). It raises the blood pressure and causes dryness of nose leading to rhinitis medicamentosa. Just tell your problem of cough during your fluticasone nasal spray, your treating surgeon will decide the spray which will not cause any issues like cough.
Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
