Question: Hello!
I hope so. My daughter has been to every doctor possible. Here are her symptoms; She had a septum plasty done a few years ago. Her right side of her nose...blocked, can't breathe.
Her top right near her temple, swells, then pounding occurs. Also, her rt. Eye waters, nose drains,
Her rt. Ear has pain. It itches too. Her right jaw, also pains.
She has seen everyone. Tmj, nerve problems, trigeminal neuralgia? This is what they said, but are not sure. When her right side of her temple and partial front of head swells? It affects her eyesight. PLEASE I HOPE YOU CAN HELP!

Brief Answer:
Possibility of headache like cluster or SUNCT headache

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The description fits into trigeminal autonomic cephalgias type of headache.
Based on duration of headache it can be either of two.
First is cluster headache characterised by unilateral, severe pain of minutes to less than 4 hours duration avg 45-60 minutes. Typically pain is around eyes, redness, watering, nasal congestion, swelling may occur.
The attacks are periodic.
Treatment is difficult.
Medication useful are oxygen, sumatriptan for acute attacks.
For prophylaxis verapamil, Topiramate, lithium can be tried.
Second possibility may be short lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache with conjunctival injection and tearing ( SUNCT) . The duration of pain is in seconds, multiple times in a day. Triggered by touch, chewing, washing face, eating.
Medication useful are Topiramate, lamotrigine, pregabalin, verapamil.
Follow and get evaluated by a neurologist or headache specialist.
Hope she recovers soon.
Wishing her good health.
