Question: my nose is sore underneath between the nostrils. When I put pressure on it it feels like it goes to my 2 front teeth. It's been this way for about 4 days.

Brief Answer:
Nasal vestibulitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. This seems to be a nasal vestibulitis. The pressure sensation radiates to the upper teeth due to common nerve supply (referred sensation).

2. Ideally, you should get this examined and start a course of oral and local antibiotics.

3. The reason for treating vestibulitis agressively is that this area of the lower half of the nose and upper lip constitutes what is known as the 'dangerous area of the face'. Severe infection in this area have a propensity to spread easily into the brain via the opthalmic veins (unlike other areas of the face which drain towards the heart below).

4. Hence, unless you have a very virulent infection or a decreased immunity (for example, due to diabetes), this should heal quickly with treatment.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
