Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Acid Reflux And GERD
Question: I'm a 69 year-old woman. I have had Gerd's disease for years, but for the last 2 months I feel especially sick. My main symptoms are *nausea, acid reflux, bloated belly, gas, trouble digesting food (even when eating small amounts). No sharp pains. Nexium doesn't work for me now. I am on dexilant and pepcid presently which also doesn't help. Do you think it could be my gallbladder?
Brief Answer:
Following examinations are needed to exclude gallbladder involvement.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
What you are experiencing may be explained with a combination of two factors
1. GERD and
2. Gallbladder / pancreas issues.
This is why it's important to exclude any gallbladder involvement.
If you were my patient I would recommend to do the following examinations to exclude gallbladder issues:
- Blood work including liver enzymes, lypase and amylase
- Abdominal ultrasound
Hope this was of help!
Wish you health!
