Suggest Treatment For Nausea Along With Severe Weakness

default
Posted on Wed, 11 Feb 2015
Question: I had a two day episode of violent vomiting almost a week ago. After a 2 day break, I became so shaky and disoriented I went to an emergency room, where I was hydrated. They said my blood levels were not bad, and I was discharged. This was two days ago, and I'm still exhausted. I can eat bland foods without getting nauseated, but I'm still weak. What's the best to strenghten myself? I'm scared.

Brief Answer:
Increase fluids intake&oral ORS&multivitamin supplementation...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are in. At the same time, I am very happy to know that your blood levels were not bad.

What you might have experienced might have been related to possible food poisoning or viral gastroenteritis.

It is extremely important to keep well hydrated:
- drink plenty of fluids: water, juice, yogurt drink,
- take OTC ORS (oral rehydration salts)
- continue your bland diet
- take multivitamin supplementation (containing vit.B, C,magnesium, zinc, etc.)

You should be consistent in following the above-mentioned advice. I am sure you'll be ok in a few more days.

Wish fast recovery!
