Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Diarrhea While On Amitiza

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I'm not sure that I am understanding your history or if your current symptoms are related to them.
When did you start having nausea and diarrhea? Did this just come on abruptly now or is it an ongoing symptom?
How long ago did you take Amitiza, and what was the reason for that - IBS with constipation?
You mention that you are taking "constipation tabs (OTC) and high fiber diet". Do you mean anticonstipation medicine or antidiarrheal medicine?
Any additional medical history you can provide will be helpful.
Thanks - will write my thoughts after hearing back from you.

Amitiza was for IBS-C and I stopped it about 4 days ago due to severe pain after using. Feels like inflammation of intestines. I took 4 tabs that melt on tongue today for constipation since I haven't had bowel movement in 4 days. Nausea just came on suddenly today but I frequently get nauseous. I have IBS-C and stage 3 kidney disease. I have a high resting heart rate we are going to monitor (doc). I have been fluctuating in blood pressure high in the afternoon when I start feeling exhausted and very low while sleeping. Bipolar I major depressive disorder PTSD and anxiety.

Hi -
I don't know what other meds you may be taking, but my thoughts are that the OTC meds to treat constipation are what caused the diarrhea. But you also said that your intestines feel raw and throbbing. I imagine you have been evaluated in the past for Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis and had a colonoscopy?
I think, if you are having a lot of pain it may be best to go in to your doctor or urgent care clinic where they can do a physical exam of your abdomen and get an X-ray. Because, although you have IBS-C, if this pain is different, it might be something else going on.
I'm sorry I can't help more via online, but as this is something that sounds new for you, it warrants an exam in person.
