Question: I had my gallbladder out 16 years ago and I have been plagues with "bill duct spasms that I end up in the ER or admitted to the hospital. Not Fun
We moved to XXXXXXX Mt and my new GI doc know exactly what it was within 15 seconds..It is trapped nerves from the way the 1st surgeon stitched me up..he nicked and artory and he put in a 2 inch wire stitch to handle the problem. That is how I got the trapped nerves so what the doc in XXXXXXX does is that he injects the scar and then injections kenoglog into the same area. I stopped the attack and the nausea and vominiting and not ER visit...the problem is that I just finished 5 IV Infusions os Iron, I started one of my attacks but it is different the whole are of my liver is swollen and I can't touch any of that area and I have a low grade fever....Could this be from the IV Iron Infusions?

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to HealthcareMagic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.

Based on the history you have shared, injectable iron is notorious to cause anaphylaxis or drug allergies as well over loading may deposit in liver but usually if previously iron is normal and more iron is given the same happens.

But since it is significant troublesome on history and pain in that region shouldn't be ignored so I would suggest you to have fresh liver function tests and serum amylase as well as serum iron and serum ferritin. Alongwith that a gastroentrologist review and a detailed abdominal examination specially with the history you have mentioned is a must.

Meanwhile drink more amounts of water and avoid spicy, heavy protienacious diets. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
