Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Dizziness, Headache And Cough After An Implanon Implant
Question: Hi, I had implanon put in a few weeks ago. I've used it twice before for the full duration, and it was great. I went a week with no issues. Now I've had a 4 day period, feeling dizzy and nauseas. Is this the implanon or just the flu that's going around?
Note I should mention, our whole household has had a cold/virus - complete with cough, tiredness and headaches. I've still got the cough but don't know if the nausea / dizzyness relates to the flu or the implanon. The period is a little unusual - seems to be longer than normal. Also have blocked ears from the cold.

Brief Answer:
Most likely from the virus in your household.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
Most likely your nausea and dizziness are from the virus you have. In particular the dizziness is more likely from a virus with ear symptoms than from the hormones in the Implanon.
The Implanon, however, may change the characteristics of your period such as the duration and amount of flow.
If after your other viral symptoms resolve, you are still having nausea, then do talk with the prescribing doctor about it.
I hope this helps and that you are soon feeling better.
