Suggest Treatment For Neuropathic Pain In The Leg After Injury

Neuropathic pain treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxx, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. The pain of nerve damage is very severe. It occurs in current form, occurs after nerve stimulation so intermittent, sharp pain.
As you are having damaged sacrum and L4-5 vertebrae, first of all, you should get fresh MRI and CT-scan of lumbosacral spine. It is needed to know whether there is any persistent nerve compression which is causing pain. It can be treated by surgical decompression, fixation of spine.
If no compression and there is pain due to regeneration, there are few other options like
: You can take combination of Gabapentine-Nortriptyline after proper prescription instead of Gabapentine alone
: Avoid weight lifting and extreme movement of back. It can cause severe pain.
: You can take S-Adenosylmethionine after proper prescription. It will help in regeneration.
: You can apply local painkiller gel like Capsacine with diclofenac gel. It relieves nerve pain.
: Also if no relief and it is only a sensory nerve, you can ask your doctor about neurolysis. It means killing nerve by injecting alcohol.
: Surgical external or internal neurolysis of nerve helps in relieving pain. It especially acts if there is scar or entrapment/adhesions in nerves.
Hope it will help you. If still no relief, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
