Suggest Treatment For Night Sweat After Bilateral Hip Fluoroscopy

default
Posted on Thu, 8 Jan 2015
Question: Hello,
I had bilateral hip steroid fluoroscopy injections yesterday morning through out patient.
All went great!
Last night, slight twinges of pain started coming back In the left side and thigh, nothing major. I know it takes 2-3 days for the medicine to completely work in the joint.
Here's the real issue...I slept great. but woke up at 4:50am hair soaked, gown soaked, pillow soaked. I had also had a loose BM in my sleep which I believe is probably what woke me up. That has NEVER happened. My face is flushed, now the pain in the left hip and leg is progressing with difficult mobility.
The surgery center called to follow up I told them what was going on, they said call the Dr.
I tried calling the Dr. at 5:40am no answer or service. After speaking with follow up nurse I tried again, and finally got the service to answer. Dr. is in the OR and will call later, she tried explain away as flu etc. I did not have the flue prior, I have had the flu shot, I did not have diarrhea or night sweats etc.
I have not felt this was sufficient for me to go to the ER, but I am not a Dr.
Should I be VERY concerned?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
No need to go to ER.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The mild increase in pain after the injections is a common finding. It will gradually subside in next 2-3 days. The sweating and bowel movement could be due to the systemic side effect of the steroid injected. This should also subside in next few days. There is nothing much to worry. Increase your fluid intake to help combat the symptoms.
I hope this answers your query.
