Suggest Treatment For Night Sweats Which Smell Strange
Is this something to be concerned about?
probably nothing to be worried about
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank your for your question. I read your query. Welcome to HCM.
Indeed, sweat may have different intensity and/or smell, in various time of day. Some times it reflects the amount of physical activity or stress which produces it, but sometimes it may also contain very small amounts of food or beverage compounds which, besides well-known routes, are also eliminated through skin pores in the form of sweat. In this case you have nothing to be worried about.
However, and this is just to be in the clear, it striked me the fact that the sweats are occasional and when they happen at night, they have this "strange" smell. Try to remember if lately you have been feeling fatigued or having muscle and/or joint pains, also unexplained low-grade fever. If this is the case, a Wright and Widal tests (to test for brucellosis and typhus) would be in order. I still think you have nothing to be worried about, I am merely "covering all grounds" here.
I hope I have been of help. If you have any follow-ups I am happy to help.
Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
