Suggest Treatment For Non Bacterial Prostatitis
While dosage of Doxycycline was ON, i saw a specialist Urologist. His first impression was Non Bacterial Prostatitis due nerve effection. Still we did another round of Herpes, Syphillis, Swab test.
All came out negative.
Following is the status now :
1. Urination Frequency : improved
2. Pain and burning in Urethra : improved
3. General Health : improved
4. Experienced pain in Anus / lower back yesterday: Not sure if pain in anus was due to prostate checking , which was done one week before though it was painful.
Not sure if i have Non bacterial prostatitis.
Lets see.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Yes, Underlying prostatitis can be one of the causes of urinary symptoms, specially if they are recurrent and it is a possibility that should be considered in case of recurrent urinary symptoms.
Cause can be previous infections which might have ascended to the prostrate, infections by atypical microorganisms like trichomonas which can be difficult to eradicate from prostrate {even though you already have been treated for it(metronidazole)} and even herpes virus Or it may be nerve related or irritation caused by back up of urine to prostrate.
While testing for STI is a part of routine investigation for prostatitis as well. Prostatic massage to express fluid from the urethra for culture, is also useful if prostatitis is suspected.
What did he prescribe? Are any more tests awaited?
Regards
Currently under no medication and no further test as no bacteria found and all STD tests negative twice.
Condition improving.
For last 36 hrs no pain in anus experienced.
Rgds
By the way even PSA test came normal.
