Suggest Treatment For Numbness In Knee

Question: I just had arthroscopic piriformis release surgery and ahip bursectomy. Since then my knee is numb and why when I scratch the inside of it, it tingles on the outside. Also since then, I have painful knots above and below the outside of my knee that I cannot "knead" them out.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Tingling and numbness indicate nerve(s) involvement, and in your case are most likely caused by nerve compression.

Compression may be related to swelling of soft tissues due to surgical procedure, or may be caused by infection of the surgical site.

There is need for a nerve conduction study and EMG of your affected leg, in order to evaluate the degree of nerve involvement and the exact site of compression.

There is need also to discus your concerns with a Neurologist and to have a neurological examination.

Treatment possibilities should be clear after the evaluation.
