Suggest Treatment For Oat Tree Mite Bites
Question: I have been fighting an outbreak of Oak tree mjtes for 3mo. The mites are not bites on the outside on my skin. They come from the inside out, causing raised areas that contain a mite. If squeezed, the mite pops out Our area has a very high concentration of these mites. I have these coveri both arms, shoulders, one breast & abdomen. These itch so bad it is painful. I received one answer, but the doctor assumed I was being bitten. Yes, I am being bitten, but from the inside out.

I am so sorry you are having this problem! I know that your area of the country is having a very bad problem with Oat Tree Mites right now, but these mites do not stay in the skin. After they bite they drop off rather than burrowing in the skin and popping out.
The usual treatment of the itchy rash is calamine lotion, and take an oral antihistamine such as Zyrtec. Zyretec 10 mg can be taken twice a day to help control the itching. You can get this medicine (generic is ceterizine) at any drug store. Some allergists recommend using it up to 4 times a day, but best to start with 1 pill twice a day and see how you do with that as it can be sedating.
If this does not work adequately, you may need a topical steroid or even a brief course of an oral corticosteroid to control the painful itching. You may need to see a dermatologist but if you can't get in then start with your primary care doctor.
Be sure to cover yourself well when going out and change clothes immediately when you come in from outside.
