Question : Recently developed itchy hemorrhoids that are affecting my sphincter's ability to close properly... thus leaky stool occasionally. I am very alarmed -what do I need to do?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this leaky sphincter. This is often aggravated by liquid stools. The main things to do now are to eat such that the stays stay formed like eating less vegetables, fruits and not taking too much water. I will also recommend that you wear a pad liner to make sure that even if you get a leaky sphincter, your under wears will not be soiled. s the hemorrhoids resolve, this will get resolved. After this episode, ask your doctor about Kegel exercises to strengthen the sphincter and control bowel leakage.
