I read yoru question and i understand your concern. Can you elaborate the location of thrush? Is it in mouth ? oral thrush or vaginal thrush . Yes treatment of both is aailable over the counter.

oral its seams to be in the esophagus, there is a lot of mucus build up there and spreads out. every single time I have had to use an inhailed steroid I have gotten thrush 2 times in the esophagus and 4 times in the mouth.

The answer lies in the question. Inhaled steroids are commonest cause of oral candidiasis. That is why we recommend salt water gargles after every inhaled steroid use to prevent such infections. You may use oral antifungal medications which comes in several forms, including lozenges, tablets, or a liquid that you swish in your mouth and then swallow. Just go to any medicine pharmacy and request it over the counter they will provide. Nystatin is the best.
