Suggest Treatment For Osteoporosis In The Hips

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Mar 2017
Question: Hi my bone density shows some mild osteoporosis in my hips. I am 65 and in otherwise good health. I do however have chronic myofascial pain syndrome and a lot of leg muscle cramps. I also am highly sensitive to numerous drugs. Reclast infusion has been mentioned due to my GERD. I however would prefer a more natural approach to bone density. Any suggestions- and your thoughts on reclast.

I have read and heard very negative issues with Reclast in that it builds old bone on bone and actually makes the bones more brittle and subject to pain. I also know several people who had awful complications. It really scares me- much worse than the osteoporosis. My mother nor grandmother never took any drugs and I have NO family history of fractures with my mother and grandmother and they lived to 89. We all have a small body frame and I am sure my mother had osteoporosis later in life.

Brief Answer:
if medical and physiotherapy fail for 6 consecutive months and still can not withstand your pain .

Detailed Answer:
Hi i am Dr Ahmed Aly
thanks for using healthcaremagic site ,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..

Actually osteoporosis is very common with both males and females with aging , for females post menopausal osteoporosis is a must due to the hormonal changes in females after menopause .
If medical treatments with painkillers , steroid , massages , gels fail the reclast infusion is mentioned to arthritic patients to relieve chronic pain .
maintaining a low body weight , avoiding vigorous movements and overusing the joint with physiotherapy are the main points that could makes you withstand the pain .
Reclast doesnt build up any bones it prevents your bone from loosing more calcium , so if medical treatment fail for six consecutive months i think it will work well with you . be careful these intra articular injections are only done by an orthopedic specialist to prevent any complications .
I would not recommend it if you are a renal patient as it is very harmful to your kidneys . so i will only recommended to you if you have lost weight and done physiotherapy and medications for 6 consecutive month and still have severe chronic pain .
