Dr. I pretty much explained everything that's wrong with me.I've had epidural steroid shots in my back and pretty much surgery, and some therapy. pretty much it for the past few years. I've just had medication and therapy off and on. I have not been to a rheumatologist yet for my joint issues but I also am having a hard time having the doctor except me being a pain patient. I've seen chiropractor and therapy for different areas of my body and injections. I have a phobia of needles, I have a really hard time with needles, so I can't do anything awake when they try to do the trigger point injections like my hip and shoulder I couldn't do it because they want me to stay awake. the phobia of needles is really really bad. Thank you back

Brief Answer: Please share the information on your pain Detailed Answer: I have thoroughly read your query and deeply understand your concern. I am not sure if you are active (moving) because of multiple joint involvement. This is the reason why your joint pain have become vicious and intolerable to bear.I would advise you to move your joints slowly so that they would not become stiff and painful. You need to be active as far as possible. Since you are having multiple joint involvement(which have been operated) I were to treat with non- surgical therapy like: Oral medication(NSAID’s) for the relief of inflammation. Physical therapy such as mild to moderate joint massage and easy stretches which will give not only adequate relief but also keep the pain under check constant and hasten the recovery. Local heat and cold (thermotherapy) Assistive devices (eg walking sticks, tap turners), Supports and braces (for neck and back) to relieve biomechanical joint pain. Shock-absorbing shoes or insoles protect your joints Keep yourself or your room warm and try to keep away from cold temperature which will trigger your pain Hope these few precautions will give you adequate pain relief. Thanks.

Yes Dr. your recommendations are great and I will use them. The only problem is I'm allergic to NSAIDs. I found out about that back in 2007 when I was hospitalized for seven days for taking ibuprofen and things like that. I started passing blood really bad and this was after my knee surgery. doctors found out that my knee surgeon had me on hydrocodone and ibuprofen and I got really sick and ended up in the hospita. I had no idea what was causing the passing of the blood and vomiting was really bloody until the doctors found out that I was taking hydrocodone and ibuprofen after my knee surgery so they told me I could never take NSAIDs again. but all your other recommendations I will look into doing. I used to be a very active woman until the pain progressed and it progresses year-by-year and it gets worse so I guess I'll just try to take it easy and do do what you recommended. Although, the pain medication does help and it helps to get on the move with many of therapies and things that I need to do. I appreciate your response to my questions and the help that you've given me. I'll take every bit of your information under consideration and use it. thank you so much Dr.
