Suggest Treatment For Pain And Discomfort In The Right Arm

Question: For two nights in a row I have experienced moderate discomfort/pain in my right arm only while in bed at night. the pain is all the way from shoulder to hand. i have not had any trauma or began new athletic activity. in the morning, the pain disappears almost completely.
Brief Answer:
Pain from shoulder to hand is probably from the cervical spine.
Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome to health care magic,
Pain from shoulder to hand is probably from the cervical spine. There may be slight spasm in muscles that is causing this. Any muscle pain is always more at night.
It is a mild one therefore only at night and better in morning.
You can use local pain balms and hot water bag at night.
If it build up or lasts more than a week, you may need to see a doctor.
Regards

Doctor,
thank you for your initial answer. I was concerned that it might be a circulatory issue or even a early sign of type II diabetes. I am about 30 pounds overweight. However, my symptoms did not prompt you to even mention that possibility. I am relieved, but would appreciate any additional comments you have. I am not sure what early symptoms might be for type II diabetes. My health insurance policy was cancelled by Obamacare and I am not been to my doctor in about 3 years.
Thank you again,
Todd

Brief Answer:
cardiac pain would be on left side and not right.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Cardiac pain would be on left side and not right.
Only late and uncontrolled Diabetes can cause shoulder hand pain.
Early symptoms of Diabetes are increased thirst, appetite and frequent urination, non healing wounds etc.
You have not mentioned any of these, so I ruled out Diabetes.
Only shoulder pain can be due to gall stones, but you said shoulder plus hand--so that is ruled out. I did consider all this before giving my opinion, so do not worry, especially since it gets better in the morning.
