Suggest Treatment For Pain And Irritation Around Head Of The Penis

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jul 2016
Question: Hi, I have some sort of irritation on the rim of my penis. It is also a bit painful to touch this area occasionally. It's been around 2 months since I noticed this. I am concerned with the purple colour on the rim of the penis head (i don't know whether it's is normal or not). I already used Dakta Gold cream for 1 wee, and Hydrozole for 1 week. It doesn't seem it helped much. I would like a urologist to see the photo and provide me with recommendations and possible treatment.

Brief Answer:
It is due to infection at Coronal Sulcus .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts and photograph that you have posted it appears that you have irritation and pain at Coronal Sulcus of penis sine 2 months .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Did you have unprotected sex or oral sex ?
2) Are you using chemically lubricated condom ?

This is mostly due to mild infection at the level of Coronal Sulcus .

Take antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with anti inflammatory medicine Diclofenac twice daily along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily .

Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily .

It should get cured within a week.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you for your response, Dr. Patil!

to answer your questions
1) I hadn't had unprotected sex for 4 months before that started (my fiancée lives overseas, and that was the last time we had sex)
2) I didn't use any condoms since January ( last time i had sex)

I masturbated occasionally and decided to wash my penis twice a day with hand wash soap, shortly before this issue started. (I think I could've killed all good bacteria living on the penis mucus with soap)

I all started with a slightly pinkish bump on the penis ( I have uploaded a photo (which I took shortly after it started) for you to review, the link is http://postimg.org/image/3swa1avb5/ ). The spot was gone approximately after 3 weeks.

Than I noticed a few purple/blue spots around the rim of the penis ( I assumed they were veins). But the right side if the penis rim (as could be seen from the first photo) is still purple, and a little swollen.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

Is it an oral antibiotic that I should take? Should I get a prescription from my GP?

Thank you very much, sir!

Brief Answer:
Avoid using soap or shampoo for cleaning pgenitals .

Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for follow up .

The irritation that you have could be due to allergic reaction to soap solution .Instead wash your genitals with warm water .

The small bumps around the rim are Perly Papules of Penis and they are normal to occur and have no significance .

Take antibiotics orally and get prescription from your family Physician .

Thanks and Regards.
