Suggest Treatment For Pain And Pressure In The Left Ear
Possible fluid in the middle ear
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.
It is very frequent to have this symptom when you have a common cold with predominance of congestion. This happens because the tube that connects the middle ear with the throat is congested too and so the draining of the fluid in the middle ear is stopped.
So what can help is doing the Valsalva maneuver (with your nose closed breath deep and then try to blow the air out but with closed mouth- check on you tube if not clear) many times during the day and also take painkillers+anti-inflammatory drugs (Ibuprofen 400mg every 6 hours.
Using decongestants has proven to not be of help.
It will continue to be better once the congestion will go away.
Hope this is helpful.
