Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Get your ears checked by an ENT SPecialist for any laceration or perforation of the ear drum. Your hearing can also be checked by Audiometry.

2. You have not mentioned when this happened.

3. Fortunately, most the trauma from an inadvertent slap is likely to heal on it's own. Keep the ear dry. Request your physician to prescribe a painkiller for a few days.

4. The further treatment will depend on the exact ear findings. Ear examination by an Otoscope is a very simple examination.Get it done immediately. It will help settle the problems. if there is any infection, a course of antibiotics will help. Any discharge, especially if foul smelling, can be sent for testing.

5. Remember to wait for at least 4-6 weeks before attempting any surgery.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
There is no cause for worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Your current medication is fine.

2. You must get your Audiometry tests done. You may upload the results here.

3. Your ENT specialist must have examined the ear drums. What were the findings?

4. The pains are usually referred pains, local soft tissue trauma and possibly the jaw joint is sore. thus can take many weeks heal.

5. This is not a serious problem, especially if the ear drum is intact and is a very common.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
