Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling In Knee Post Injury

Reconstruction done last year (patellafemoral reconstruction)
Not to worry. Ice it, elevate the limb, anti inflammatory Medicine
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Thanks for the query.
How long ago did you fall ?
Is there any difficulty in flexing and extending the knee?
Are there any sounds or feeling of increased friction while flexing and extending the knee ?
Usually of you have sustained enough trauma to damage the arthroplasty components then you would have severe swelling, gross restriction of movement of the knee and severe pain.
Since the photograph shows mile to moderate swelling and no increased redness, your are probably safe. It may just be a soft tissue injury.
I would recommend you ice the painful region and keep the limb elevated over a pillow. Do gradual flexion and extension of the knees to avoid it getting stiff. You can take an anti inflammatory Medicine like Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days of you have pain that bothers you.
If the pain does not subside in 7 days and any restriction of movement at any time, you should get an Xray of the knee done to look for component breakage.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
