Hello,

I looked at the 2 pictures you sent today and read over the post from Oct 26.

After an injury with bruising, the excavated blood (blood that got out of the blood vessels from the trauma) can sink down to lower parts than just being in the actual place that was injured. As your foot is lower, some of the blood and fluid has gone down into it. I think that is why the darkest area is horizontal along the lower part of the side of your foot.

If you are not having any pain in your leg around or above it, it is likely to just be a fluid collection that will get reabsorbed and cleaned up by your body.

I recommend elevating the leg when possible.

If, however, the swelling increases, or there is pain in your calf, then do go in to be checked out.

I hope this information helps.
