Question: Hello I am not sure what the right specialty for what I have,
I HAVE PAIN IN MY FOOT AND A LOT OF SWELLING VEINS AND A VISIBLE VIEN NEAR aling leg, I can send a photo so you can see

Is there any medicine or is it just surgery, what medicine do they give for it?

depends on degree of varicose vein problem

Hi,

Before treatment, examination and doppler is needed . By this it may be known, which all veins are involved and do deep vein also involved and also reflux is there.

These points are important in deciding the treatment. For small sized veins conservative treatment is given
-like crepe bandage and
-leg elevation while sleeping and
-calcium dobusalate. This drug makes vein more tight and reduce varicose vein.

For larger veins the options are
-surgery and removal of vein or
-laser therapy
-radio frequency therapy etc.

Even to choose among the above options it needs to know veins are straightly swollen or tortous.

I would suggest you to consult vascular surgeon and get examined and doppler study of leg. For uploading photo you have option on right side of your dashboard or you can send to YYYY@YYYY and with subject as ATTN: Dr. Deepika Patil.
Veins swelling is varicose veins only.

Hi,

I saw the pictures you have sent. It is varicose veins only. I assume it is confined to only foot.

I would suggest you to get doppler study to know problem in a valve situated in thigh. Usually this cause vein swelling lower down. If that value is normal then for foot veins sclerotherapy or laser may be done. No need for surgery.

If the value is not normal then surgery would be needed. But yours is in early stage not hugely enlarged. So cure rates are good and recurrence chances are less.

Is there anyway it could be related to the tightness in the chest?
