Suggest Treatment For Pain Caused After Thrombosed Hemorrhoid Lancing

Question: Hi,
I had a thrombosed hemorrhoid lanced last week. I have had little relief from it. I feel fine until I have a BM then about an hour later I am in terrible pain. The type of pain that incapacitates me. I have had to have my parents come over to get my kids to bed because I cannot do it. This pain lasts for a few hours, I go to bed, wake up feeling fine, then it starts all over again after a BM. I am taking a stool softner, fiber supplement, drinking tons of water but nothing seems to be working. I am at the point where I am scared to go to the bathroom. I have seen 3 doctors last week (this is day 15) and they all told me the same thing, that it is a minor case of hemorrhoids and to let it play its course. I don't know how much longer I can stand this.

Brief Answer:
apply a local anaesthetic gel

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

Is your stools soft after taking stool softner. If yes, then your pain should not be so severe. If no, then you need to increase its dose. You need to adjust the dose of it to get a desirable consistency.

Dont hold your stools back, as the longer they will stay inside, the harder they will become and the more pain they will cause.

I would also suggest that you apply a locally acting anaesthetic gel to the area, before and after going for BMs. This will ease you pain quite a bit.

Also you can take sitz bath for a faster healing. Its sitting in a tub of lukewarm water with 5-10ml of an antiseptic solution added to it for 15mins, three times a day.

It may take a week more to heal if you follow the above.

Hope i have been helpful.

Thank you for your response. The area that was lanced last week is now throbbing. Is it normal to experience throbbing with hemorrhoids? It throbs with and without pain. Right now it is the only indication that there is anything wrong but later (if I can have a BM) it will be throbbing pain.

Brief Answer:
its due to the raw area

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The throbbing pain is due to the raw area. Once it gets healed the pain will go. Provided you have not developed any more thrombosed hemorrhoids. But as you have already show it to three doctors and if they all haven't detected it, then its chance of being there is very dim.

You try what i had advised, and you should get better.
