Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Arthritis Of The Wrist

detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I read carefully your query.
Arthritis is a chronic inflammation of a joint and there is no definitive cure for it but the symptoms can be managed.
There are some thing that you can try to relieve the pain in the wrist:
-You should stop or limit the activities that cause pain in the wrist.Try not to write for long hours and limit other works that make your wrist painful.
-During acute episodes of pain ,rest and splinting the wrist with removable thermoplastic splints may be useful. This is done for short periods of time.
-You can apply ice to lower the inflammation and ease the pain.
-Doing hand exercising on a daily basis can help like wrist stretching etc.
-Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are useful in controlling inflammation. You can use Ibuprofen or Naproxen.
Another possible option of treatment is Steroid injection on wrist that can provide relief up to several months and can be repeated.
Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.
Kind regards,

Hello,
Hope you are doing well.
I apologize for the delay in answering your query.
It is true that all non-steroidal anti-inflammation drugs (NSAIDs) can cause stomach problems if taken in large doses and for long time .It is not a problem to take it only when you have pain like twice a week or more.
Try to avoid overusing of the hands and take Ibuprofen for the pain. You can also try Celecoxib ,which belongs to a new class of NSAIDs called Cox 2 that won't cause problems with stomach. You can use it with Ibuprofen (some times Ibuprofen and other times Celocoxib).
Use the drugs after meals.
You won't have any problem.
Let me know if you need further help.
Take care,
Dr.Rovena
