Brief Answer:
Finding and Treating the cause will be more appropriate

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HCM

It is difficult to say exactly what it is without examination. Consuming pain killer will reduce the pain, that is the symptom, but one had to find the cause which is responsible for causing it, addressing that will be permanent solution.

Provide additional information like the duration of illness, is there history of injury, any part history of significance.

Now based on symptom, you may have sciatica, which has got similar presentation.

It can be diagnosed be physical examination and by certain examination maneuver. Sometimes, X-rays and other tests, such as CT scan, MRI scan needed.

I would suggest you to see orthopedician for examination and for exact diagnosis.

Take care.
