Suggest Treatment For Pain In Cheek

injured in any way.
It seems to be due to the Temporomandibular joint disease (TMD).
Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
This is a Joint that is in between the two main bones of the jaw and is a hinge joint responsible for the movements of the mastication (opening an closing of the mouth).
Probabilities of the TMD may be:-
May be due to the problems with the muscles of the mastication or solely due to the issues of the joint structures itself.
Grinding of the teeth sometimes puts a huge pressure and stress on the joint and causes the pain and TMD.
There is a disc in the joint that acts as a cushion for the movements of the joint. If there is some problem with that disc, it causes the same issues as you are having.
Clenching of the teeth, Grinding of the teeth, tightening of the facial muscles which all can be XXXXXXX to the stress disorder may lead to the stress on the joint and TMD.
Osteoarthritis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) may cause TMD.
Investigations:-
MRI of the joint may clearly give the joint structures details if there is some problem over there. Full face X-RAY and CT Scan also helps.
Management (Home remedies-Over the counter:-
For muscle pain and swelling in the joint due to inflammation take Excedrin Extra strength.
Apply cold sponge on the cheek and temple area for 5-8 minutes. Take it off, give some slow movements to the joint. Then apply warm water dipped cloth the same way for same time duration and do it for 5 times a day.
You have to put less burden on the joint so take a soft food.
Limit the movements of your jaw, don't do anything that needs wide opening of the mouth until it heals up completely.
To relieve more effectively, don't keep the teeth clenched. Keep tongue in between teeth during the day to avoid the clenching and grinding.
A night guard can also be used during sleep time. Its a splint that fits on lower and upper teeth and avoids grinding to keep stress away from your jaw joint.
If you feel nothing is working anymore for you, consult an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for help.
