Suggest Treatment For Pain In Chest And Back

Does not appear to be cardio cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Classically, sharp tearing pain radiating to back - can be seen in dissecting aorta disease. However, as MRI has not detected anything, I doubt there will be any tear.
2. At present, GERD with hiatus hernia needs to be controlled.
3. Cardiac disease, related to heart - can be diagnosed based on symptoms like increasing pain in chest, which exacerbates with exercises. At present, if you have these symptoms, treadmill test with ECG can help in diagnosis.
4. For GERD with hiatus hernia, proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole or pantoprazole necessary.
5. For hiatus hernia, eat multiple small meals (never full stomach) and also avoid lying down immediately after food (atleast 2 hours, be in sitting position).
6. Avoid spicy or sour foods, which increase acidity. Also need to avoid stress.
Hope it helps.

Yes, GERDs can cause this pain.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.
Good to know, that the stress test was normal.
Different patients present with different symptoms for same condition. Unless the patient is treated and the symptoms subside, until then, difficult to say what is the cause.
Cardiac cause is ruled out due to stress test. MRI has basically ruled out any aortic dissection or aneurysm. Lung causes are also ruled out, due to MRI and CT scans.
Presently, only one identifiable cause, treatment needs to be started and continued for a month. It should reduce. GERD is known to present with chest pain and back pain too in few cases according to studies.
If any additional symptoms - not sure you are going to have any, as all tests are normal, then further investigations - repetition maybe necessary.
Now, need to start treatment to look for improvement in symptoms.
Hope it helps.
