Question: right index finger, outer joint, hurts very much. mostly it's sudden, when I move my finger, or also when the finger is resting, not moving. the finger does not appear to be swollen, if so just a little. the pain came on suddenly three days ago. I don't recall any trauma. i'm 72
Brief Answer:
Its can be inflammation of tendon sheath
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that it is inflammation of the tendon sheath which is causing this. It can be due to very trivial trauma like sudden bending or lifting of some weight or overuse.
I would suggest you following.
1.Hot water fomentation
2.Tablet Voveron one daily.
3.Avoid using that finger for seven days.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
