Suggest Treatment For Pain In Groin Area And Limbs
Question: I have had groin pain for some months, which radiates to hip and outer thigh. Causes limping, difficulty climbing stairs, getting in and out of car. I have continual dull pain when resting, raising my leg straight does not cause extra pain, but moving leg outwards is very painful. Been trying to treat myself with ibuprofen gel and painkillers, but dont get much relief. Cant take anti-inflamatories by mouth because i take warfarin. Any suggestions please?
Brief Answer:
Please, get a CT-Scan of the hip joints!!
Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this pain. While it is definitely important to control the pain, the main cause seems originating from the hip joint. I will like that you get this joint and especially the femoral head evaluated using a CT scan.
For pains, more potent drugs such as codeine/tramadol are required in the meantime but they all require a doctor's script. I will suggest that you talk to your doctor about this as taking anti-inflammatories is not advised at this time. However, tylenol, 1g every 6-8hours is safe to take.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
