Suggest Treatment For Pain In Left Breast

Question: Hi! Ive been having some pain in my left breast not associated with my menstrual cycle for over 3 months now. I know that I have fibrocystic breasts already and had a fibroadenoma in the right breast a few years ago. The pain is more toward my arm pit and definitely only in the one left breast. I am touching it constantly because it's become a habit and I'm worried about it, do you think that could be making it worse? I had an ultrasound done that was normal and also went to a breast surgeon yesterday. She said I had some thickening in both breasts but a little more on the left side that was painful. She was unconcerned and said both breasts were very fibrocystic, wanted me to take Primrose Oil and to come back in 8 weeks. Do you think this is something I should wait 8 weeks for because of the mention of thickening? That word scares me. Even if the ultrasound came back normal and she didn't feel any suspicious lumps, should I request an MRI? Thanks so much!

Brief Answer:
You should not worry about thickening.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Fibrocystic disease is a benign condition.
Touching any area doesn't lead to any swelling or worsen any swelling.
As Ultrasound is normal, there is no need for an MRI. If Ultrasound showed any suspicious lesion, then further investigations will be necessary.
Thickening of the breast tissue is not of much concern.
Primrose oil is the best treatment for Benign conditions of the breast worldwide. You should take them.
Apart from primrose oil, I also add anti inflammatory tablet to my patients with similar complaints.
You can wait for 8 weeks till next visit.
If the pain is due to musculoSkeletal cause, then anti inflammatory tablets will help.
Nothing to worry.
If you have any queries, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
