Suggest Treatment For Pain In Stomach And Chest When Suffering From Barrett's Esophagitis

Question: I am a 44 year old female with a history of Barrett's Esophagitis and ulcers. For the past month, I have had stomach pain, chest pain, and a little bit of throbbing pain under the right ribcage every time I eat. My stools are normal although they are yellow in color. I have been to the ER where I had a CT scan (normal~showed that I was constipated)) and blood work (normal). I was sent home with antacids. I have been back and forth to the doctor and I'm currently taking a Prevpac (even though I tested negative for h. pylori) and Carafate. Nothing is helping. I have a referral to a GI but it could be up to two months before I can get an appointment. I am absolutely miserable and I'm starting to get scared at this point. What would you suggest I do until I see the GI?
Brief Answer:
Take antacids and sleep head up.
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thanks for the query. What you need is an endoscopy. Since it is 2 months away, you can use antacids, especially Sucralfate suspension, thrice a day. A pro kinetic drug such as Levosulperide 25 mg thrice daily will relieve the regurgitation symptoms. In addition you will need one of the proton pump inhibitors such as Pantoprazole. Sleeping 15 degree head up by elevating the head end of the bed will also help. These medications should take care of the symptoms. If you condition worsens, request for am early endoscopy.
