Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Big Toes

Question: I have pain in the tp of my big toes when pressure is on them, as in bed at night.
Brief Answer:
Are there any skin changes?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this pain that you have reported. Pressure can lead to pain especially over bony prominent area such as the toes. I would like to suggest that you try avoiding much pressure on these toes by allowing greater contact with the bed at areas where the contact surface is larger and will reduce the amounts of pressure exerted/felt at the area and thus pain.
In all, avoid bring them to close contact with the bed as lack of much skin tissue and increased relative pressure exerted explains these symptoms.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up if need be.

Well, that did;t help any. Am I supposed to stay out of bed? What is the real cause?
Brief Answer:
See below!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is the issue, as we age, the amount of skin over our bones reduces significantly. This means that the east pressure over these areas is completely transmitted to the bones and that causes pains. The main approach is to void that small areas come in contact with the bed surface as this leads o increased pressure being transmitted to the bones and pains. Definitely you wouldn't be sleeping out of bed. However, you may want to put on a cushion or socks while going to bed. This will prevent direct pressure transmission and help prevent this pain. There is no medication beside physical measures to reduce and redistribute the amount of pressure exerted on these areas that would be more beneficial.
I hope this helps and is a lot more clearer to you now. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
