Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Hip And Back
The latest concern that I have developed is that my left foot has started to change color red/blue and my heel has become tender and spungy like there is fluid under the skin. It is tender and hard to walk on.
If I had pain I would think that it could be something being pinched. I don't know if I would need a hip replacement. I'm sure that X-rays would confirm any deterioration for that. Not liking that option!
My foot concerns me because it makes it really hard to walk.
I would appreciate any answers that you could provide me.
Thank you very much!
you need to get clinically examined and investigated at the earliest ..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,
Let me assure you first of all that hip replacement is certainly not the solution here neither back issues, so don't worry about them..
There's a much significant concern here which is making me worried for you is - the gradual discoloration of the left foot along with the pedal edema(the tender swelling over heel)..
Several possibilities are there and the most important one among them is the disturbance of the arterial blood flow to your feet (can be due to some bony defect due to the prolonged stressful sitting posture / bony spur, though unlikely or even due to arterial spasm / associated infection/ blood clot)..
Please don't panic, but do note that it's enough to be concerned about to such extent which demands immediate intervention..
I'd strongly suggest you to seek immediate help, preferably to your nearest ER/Urgent Care for an immediate examination of the area followed by few prompt investigations to check the patency of the veno-arterial system(color Doppler study) as well as some others(CBC, BUN, Creatinin, Coagulation profile and may be some imaging studies based on the findings of the clinical examination), management depends on the findings..
As of now, don't indulge in to any strenuous activities, don't try to drive either, please call for an ambulance or let some one accompany you to the ER..
Keep your feet a bit elevated with minimum movement, stay well hydrated by drinking a lot of water, don't rub anything over the feet..
Let me know how you stay in the due course..please don't delay anymore and get immediate help..
My Best Wishes
Kind Regards
