Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Hip And Buttock Region After A Fall
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hi. I fell off my horse and landed on hard ground about 3 days ago. I'm a 58 yr old woman and apparently I don't bounce like I used to. I landed on my butt.
It hurt pretty bad at first, and I could barely walk, then was numb. Its back to to hurting now.
I'm having trouble sleeping and bending. Funny thing..it doesn't really hurt to sit?

Brief Answer:
Ice, elevation, exercise
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Thanks for the query.
It is particle that you may have caused soft tissue damage to the region around the hip and buttock region.
Nothing to worry. Keep the limb elevated. Apply ice thrice a day. Take pain killers. Avoid strenuous activity and any predisposing activities.
Take Tablet Trypsin, Bromelain and Rutoside combination available with prescription, thrice a day for 3 days on empty stomach. It reduces the swelling and pain drastically.
Do range of movement exercises after 3 days.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

That is good to know, and thank you so very much. One question, how do I keep my bottom elevated? I have been using ice. Don't recognize the medications you mentioned. I wont see a Doctor for a prescription, since you have answered my questions and will just keep taking Ibuprofen if you think that is ok..
I feel relieved to know it isn't anything that could be broken.
Sincerely, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Pillow elevation
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Do keep a soft pillow and elevate the affected buttock.
You can take Ibuprofen, but do not take it for more than 5 days. Also take it after meal for twice a day.
You should be fine in a week to ten days.

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX
Today when I woke up, I could immediately tell it was better. I have more range of motion, and less pain bending and moving. My tailbone area still is pretty darn sore, but not the kind of pain that makes you wince or cry out.
Your advise saved me an unnecessary trip to the Instacare or clinic, and gave me the peace of mind that helped me let go of the worry that something was really wrong.
Thank you again. I will definitely use your services in the future ( because I still have a horse) :)
