Question: 10 days ago my husband was diagnosed with Bell's palsy. Last evening the pain in the right side of his neck returned. He took an Aleve and said he feels better. He was told he also has significant blockage in his carotid artery. Seeing a vascular surgeon in 4 weeks. He had his last Prednisone Friday am. Was also put on Lipitor. Should he be seen?

Brief Answer:
Take pain killers when required

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Bell's palsy is self remiting and almost complete recovery occurs in few months.
Neck pain may be cervical radiculopathy or muscle spasm.
Pain killers like aceclofenac or diclofenac with tizanidine or thiocholchicoside can be taken.
No need to take steroids now.
Carotid stenosis needs to be managed as advised by vascular surgeon.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
