Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Right Arm
Question: My wife has had some pain in her right arm for the last week or so. We think it is because we are babysitting our daughter's mid-sized dog. The dog is old and has trouble sometimes getting up and my wife repeatedly hoists the dogs rear end up to get him back on his feet. I don't want to jump to conclusions, though, and wondered if you could comment. She told me that she had a momentary sensation of heat in her chest just before the arm pain started. It has me worried and she promised she would see a doctor after the hurricane (we're in Florida.) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Few possible causes
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Yes,there are few possible causes and most usual is muscular pain caused by injury or excessive use of arm. in this case, rest and nonsteroid painkillers should help. However if there is constant pain in rest, especially if she elevates arm or weakened pulsations in arm with arm coldness or numbness, then she should see doctor since this may indicate blood vessel or nerve obstruction such as thrombosis or embolism. also if pain occurs in the left arm and is associated with chest pain, then you should see doctor as soon as possible. Wish you good health. Regards
