Suggest Treatment For Pain In Wrist
Question: Pain where you would observe a wrist pulse. Distal of the pulse point. Gripping anything from a writing pen to a glass of water is painful and makes me use my stupid-hand. No previous explicit trauma. Craning wrist sucks as does hyper-extension to stretch.
Intermittent thumb and index finger numbness. Pain radiates to bse of index joint when gripping wide-mouth containers or using thumb to press. Severe loss of strength when gripping. Making a fist is normal. Rotation of wrist painful under load. Wrist bone (one little bone) pops when grasping or making fist. Mild swelling and no discoloration.

Brief Answer:
You seem to have a nerve entrapment in your wrist
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have carefully gone through the details and what you describe seems to be due to nerve entrapment. It seems that while passing down the forearm into the hand through the wrist, a nerve is getting entrapped and impinged, thus giving rise to the problems that you are facing. You need to get a surgical opinion whether a surgical release is required. A EMG and NCV test will help in confirming the diagnosis.
Hot compress over your wrist should provide some relief.

Why does the bone pop when I make a soft fist? The bone movement is in the same spot as the pain.
Brief Answer:
The movement of the bone may cause a pop
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. The movement of the carpal bones is causing the pop. This same movement is causing the nerve to be compressed. Hence the pain.
