Suggest Treatment For Pain, Redness And Burning Sensation In The Eyes

Question: My wife and I are on vacation in Iceland. About two days ago both of her eyes started hurting and we assumed it was due to her contacts. She has been careful to use the correct contact solution and insert them correctly, but this morning both of her eyes hurt quite bad, are red and watery, and are reluctant to open. Could this be simple allergies or something else easy or is it necessary to see an eye doctor immediately? We will be headed back home in 2 days which would be the ideal time to see a doctor.

Hi,

I have gone through the medical history and the photo of your wife's eye and understood your concerns.

It seems like blepharitis to me.

Ideally, it could be better to see an eye specialist. She needs prescription eye drops.
You can send her to ER if she cannot stand to symptoms.

Otherwise can wait until you get back home and see your eye specialist.

For the moment, I advise to:
- wash her eyes with baby shampoo (1 part) diluted in warm water (5 parts).
- rinse well
- rinse with chamomile tea
- can apply chamomile tea as drops on eye and keep them closed for at least 15 minutes
