Question : I get boils around the area of my labia from time to time. They are extremely painful. Are there any home remedies besides sitting in a hot bath that can be done before seeing a doctor? How can I prevent them? I never used to get them but in recent years it's every couple of months.

Painful boils around labia that are recurrent can be due to herpes infection or a bacterial infection. it can happen due to improper hygiene wearing tight undergarments too close shaving etc.
You need to rule out diabetes by getting your blood glucose levels tested as such infections are common in diabetics. in addition to hot bath you can take a mild pain killer and apply local antiseptic cream like Neosporin H. Oral antibiotics are needed to control the infection.
