Question: I have a very painful lump at the bottom of my spine right at the top of the crack of my bum on the right side, I have been to my GP who gave me antibiotics, but the lump seems to be growing and is very tender to the touch I can't sit down properly, do think something else needs to be done?

Brief Answer:
This is a pilonidal cyst. It has to be incised and drained.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of this lump?

From your description, most likely you have a pilonidal cyst. The pain indicates that its infected and filled with pus.
Antibiotic wont treat it and giving the antibiotic without surgical intervention is a mistake.

The cyst has to be incised and drained. Pus must be evacuated. Please go to ER. This should be done as soon as possible.

After the drainage, and when the inflammation will be gone, the cyst should be scheduled for removal. Without it, the inflammation can recur.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
