Question: I have a lump in the first rib under my collarbone right hand side - there is a slight aching with it that radiates down to my breast and into my collarbone. Along with the on and off aching all over my body I am worried it is bone mets from my breast cancer 22 years ago

Brief Answer:
Ultrasonography and FNAC would be most useful - insist for these.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted and nice to know that you are a breast cancer survivor, had it 22 years ago.
It is less likely to develop any secondaries so late.
Now have a lump as you have described, in the first rib under the collar bone on the right side with slight aching radiating down the breast and into collar bone and on and off aching all over the body.
This may most probably be an inflammatory swelling since it is giving you other symptoms too.
Ultrasonography and FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) would be more helpful.
Please tell me few more details:
Since when have you got this lump?
Color of the skin, temperature and tenderness?
Size and shape?
Mobility?

I hope this answer helps you, please give feedback fr the above questions, the reports and feel free to ask for further queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Not sure how long the lump has been there. The skin is a normal colour, not really tender - maybe a little warm hard to tell. It is located approximately 2 inches out from the middle of my ribcage and would be about and inch long - not moveable hard lump in rib.

Brief Answer:
USG guided FNAC and further investigations if needed.

Detailed Answer:
Sincere thanks for your feedback.
This description makes me think about the early proper diagnostic procedures as mentioned above and CT scan of the chest with high resolution (HRCT) for the affected area.
