Brief Answer:
Explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
The onset is acute so it doesn't signify a malignant cause. Most likely its reactive lymphadenopathy in response to a viral or bacterial infection. The throat, ear and sinuses can be examined to look for possible focus of infection. Antibiotics can be advised if indicated. For the time being, NSAIDs like ibuprofen can be used to counter the associated inflammation/pain. Most likely it will resolve within 2 weeks. If it persists then an excisional biopsy of the lump can be planned for histopathology, in consult with your doctor.
Thanks.
